Funding Arrangements

Milford Care Centre is a voluntary, not for profit organisation and registered charity.

It draws its funding from a number of sources.

Funding for our Specialist Palliative Care service and our Day Care Centre for Older Persons comes primarily from the Health Service Executive which provides approximately 80% of its costs.  The balance comes from fundraising initiatives undertaken by the local community, donations and bequests.  In some instances health insurance companies make payments in respect of those patients who have private health cover.

Funding for the Nursing Home, which is a not for profit facility, comes primarily from the Fair Deal scheme although some residents pay fees directly to the Centre.

The Education, Research and Professional Development service levies charges for its courses.

We have also been very fortunate in attracting financial support from philanthropic organisations for specific projects.
